Like sands from the hourglass...

I've stepped into the soap operatic world of Days of Our Lives where my dad is holed up dealing with his brain condition. He has three neighbours...

Patrick is kind of like Grandpa Brady from DoOL. Irish as can be, he oozes with soft spoken wisdom, but occasionally fires up his temper. He would also be a dead ringer for a bartender at the Brady Pub.

Victor Kiriakis' role is reprised by Franco, a Croat who is bed-ridden. Overall he is really nice & proper, but like the Kiriakis Clan, Frank has a lot of progeny. Warning though...he can get as mean as Victor if you leave the faucet dripping.

The tragic tortured soul character of John Black is played by a no-legged guy aptly named "John." John says more with his eyes than verbally and has a great deal of hair fluffing up the top of his head. Wonder if he has those crazy flashback memories to the past?

Stephano DiMera is the archenemy in DoOL -- scheming always to thwart the very existence of salem-mites. Here at BF, the role is played by Nurse Wench. Her fiendish plots include heart-stopping "oops I forget to replace the allergy bracelet for 5 days" to general snide nastiness. Watch out, fellow salem-place visitors: this one is capital 'n' nasty.

If only there were a Grandma Horton, this place would be less o' a funny farm... Posted by Hello

Sometimes I think the worst breed on earth are software engineers. These are the types who invented the dreaded Windows "blue screen of death". More immediate to today's problem is this lovely message that tells me so very little about what I can do as an end user. The server "threw" an exception? I think that is a personification of an inanimate object, if there was any! This rant is funny coming from me! I am otherwise so attached to my iPAQ, Sony T637, Suunto watch among other beeping "geek toys" that my girlfriend chides me about from time to time. It's not like I ever told her between a drowning girlfriend and the geek toys that I would EVER pick the electronic gizmos.....or did I? Posted by Hello

Parking Karma

The GF & her parents get a kick sometimes when I find parking downtown for free. My friend 'Wok with Yan' calls this "good parking karma." Strange thing is that in Toronto & Seattle I don't *mind* paying because there are these machines that let me use credit cards. Ahhhhhhhh....plastic money! So I am a sucker for the small conveniences of not having to thumb around for quarters. After all, eight quarters in downtown gets you a paltry 10 minutes of parking. Well you wouldn't want to tempt fate with Busters or anything like that!

What is Psion 5mx?

The Psion line of PDA's rocked until they were discontinued in 2001. Featuring keyboards that allowed touchtype, they had full email/web capabilities, as well as built-in Excel and Word! Unfortunately, mine lasted until its untimely demise. =(

Walk with the GF

The GF told me something cool about Canada Place. Her grouse tourguide said the 10 sails @CP=the 10 provinces

Jetsgo Dies

I got in trouble at work a couple of times. Not really a bad ass or anything, but one time was putting together an office pool for the demise of Jetsgo. People would bet on when the air carrier would die. Simplifly no more -- it just died!
