Park Lock lives on

To survive in Vancouver for decades as a Chinese restaurant is a feat. To the dustbin of history for places like Yen Lock, Winter Garden, New Winter Garden, among others. I came across the Park Lock at the corner of Keefer and Main when shopping at the NAMARKET (Night Market) last night in Chinatown. Long before Floata, Park Lock was in the 1980's the premier Chinese restaurant to go to. As a kid, many a night was spent playing with my brother at some boring multi-course dinner with the throngs of relatives. What strange food delectable food they had that we had to drive half an hour from Richmond to taste!

At this rate, Park Lock might become one of the longest running Chinese restaurants in town (though Ho Ho's has quite a lead...)
